Developing Great Thinkers
Now in our 34th year, Tri-State Chess has been creating chess teams and teaching after school and curricular chess programs in the Greater NY area since January 1991!
Beginner Classes: For all grades and for complete beginners. Includes students who don't know how to move the pieces and those that only know how to move the pieces and nothing else.
Tuesdays: June 17, 24 - July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 - August 5, 12, 19
- Grades 1-3: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Intermediate/Advanced classes:Students must know what checkmate means and know how to move all the pieces. Tournament players welcome!
Wednesdays: June 18, 25, - July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 - August 6, 13, 20
- Grades 1-3 - 6:00-7:00pm
- Grades 4+ - 7:00pm-8:00pm (Rated 800-1300)

The Primary Instructor for our Virtual Group Classes and Private Lessons is
CARLOS SANCHEZ
Mr. Sanchez aims to provide the most fun chess classes to ALL GRADES all over the U.S.
His teaching style incorporates rhyme, rhythm, singing, and dancing to help motivate, inspire, and make chess classes memorable to all the students.
He has been fine-tuning his "Educational Performances" for the last 21 years, having taught "Super Fun Chess Lessons" to well over 10,000 children throughout New York, New Jersey, & Connecticut.
Providing chess classes from Kindergarten through 8th grade, his classes are Super Fun, Super Funny, high energy, highly entertaining, motivating, and inspiring.
His teaching approach caters to all learning styles. Many students and schools he teaches win in state championships and national chess tournaments. Mr. Sanchez makes chess fun for everyone.

Monthly Chess Tournaments
Tournaments at Bryant Park are divided into 7 sections based upon age and strength. Players can play "up" into any section. The top section includes Adults and offers Cash prizes. Trophies, plaques and medals to all others.
Summer Chess Camps
